Market Creation
How to create prediction markets on PMX
Requirements
Anyone can create a market. You'll need a Solana wallet with enough funds to cover the market creation fee (used to mint initial tokens).
Question Format
Your market question must be:
- Clear — Unambiguous wording with no room for interpretation
- Objective — Based on verifiable facts, not opinions
- Time-bound — Includes a specific date or deadline
Good Example
"Will Bitcoin reach $150,000 by December 31, 2025?"
Clear threshold, specific date, objectively verifiable.
Bad Example
"Will Bitcoin do well next year?"
Vague — "do well" and "next year" are undefined.
Outcomes
All PMX markets have exactly two mutually exclusive outcomes:
YES
The event occurs or condition is met
NO
The event does not occur
Resolution Date
Set a resolution date after which the outcome can be determined. Pick a date that:
- Is after the event can be verified
- Allows reasonable time for confirmation
- Isn't so far out that interest fades
Resolution Timing
Markets are typically resolved within a few hours of the resolution date, pending UMA oracle confirmation.
Market Creation Fee
The creation fee mints YES and NO tokens at a 50/50 split and seeds the liquidity pools. This defines the initial pricing curve.
Example: $100 creation fee
YES pool$50
NO pool$50
Initial odds50% / 50%
Capital at Risk
The creation fee is not a deposit — it's an active market position. It can be completely lost if your side doesn't win.
